The Biggest China-aid Project to Egypt in 2011
--Chinese Vehicles Project--Officially Kick-started

On September 28 2011, HE Song Aiguo, Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, and HE Abu Naga, Egyptian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, on behalf of their respective governments, officially exchanged note to kick-start a China-aid project to Egypt, which consists of 700 vehicles including 400 4WDs, 150 cars and 150 mini-buses, all made in China, of Chinese indigenous brands as well as proprietary IP rights. These vehicles are to be allocated to relevant Egyptian government departments for public and social management, and expected to arrive at Egypt toward year-end.

This is the biggest aid in kind provided by the Chinese government to Egypt in recent years, as well as the largest China-aid project after political changes in Egypt early this year. It was initiated upon the request of the Egyptian government, and has been implemented through friendly consultation between the two sides, reflecting the solid traditional friendship and cooperation between China and Egypt.
