Wang Yi Meets with Pakistani Ambassador to China Masood Khalid
2019/07/05

On July 5, 2019, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with outgoing Pakistani Ambassador to China Masood Khalid in Beijing.

Wang Yi expressed that China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership has withstood the test of the changing international situation and enjoyed a solid political and public opinion foundation, and is thus unbreakable. The hearts of the two peoples are always linked together. As iron friends, we should jointly well consolidate and develop bilateral relations, so as to further benefit the two peoples. Wang Yi spoke highly of Masood Khalid's positive efforts in and important contributions to promoting China-Pakistan relations during his tenure as Pakistani Ambassador to China.

Masood Khalid said that Pakistan and China share a common destiny, and bilateral relations have become stronger with the passage of the time. Bilateral cooperation covers a wide range of fields and has yielded fruitful results. Positive progress has been made in the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The two sides have maintained close coordination in multilateral affairs. I feel very honored to serve as the Ambassador to China which has a special friendship with Pakistan, and to make my own contributions to the development of Pakistan-China relations over the past six-odd years. I have full confidence in the bright future of Pakistan-China friendship and will continue to do my bit to promote it.
