Visit to Egypt by Chinese Prime Ministers

From December 14 to 21, 1963, Premier Zhou Enlai visited the United Arab Republic with the accompaniment of Vice Premier Chen Yi. Premier Zhou held three talks with President Nasser. The delegation stayed in Port Said and Aswan.

From April 1 to 2, 1965, Premier Zhou Enlai visited the United Arab Republic and exchanged views on international situation with President Nasser.

From June 19 to 30, 1965, Premier Zhou Enlai visited the United Arab Republic with the accompany of Vice Premier Chen Yi. Premier Zhou held four talks with President Nasser.

From December 21 to 24, 1982, Premier Zhao Ziyang visited Egypt and held a talk with President Hosni Mubarak. The delegation stayed in Cairo and Ismailia.

From December 2 to 6, 1991, Premier Li Peng and his wife visited Egypt. Premier Li met President Hosni Mubarak, Speaker of the People¡¯s Assembly Sorour, Chairman of the Shura Council Mustafa Helmy and Vice Premier Waly. Premier Li also held a talk with Premier Sidki. The delegation stayed in Cairo and Alexandria.

At the invitation of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Hosni MubarakChinese Premier Zhu Rongji paid an official good-will visit to Egypt from April 19 to 23, 2002. During the visit, President Mubarak met with Premier Zhu and hosted a lunch in his honor. Prime Minister Atef Ebeid held a talk with Premier Zhu. Premier Zhu also met with Speaker of the People¡¯s Assembly, Ahmed Fathi Sorour, Speaker of the Shura Council, Mostafa Kamal Helmy and Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Amr Moussa. Premier Zhu also delivered a speech at a luncheon hosted by the Egyptian business sector. The two sides signed two documents, including: the Agreement between the Government of the People¡¯s Republic of China and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on Cooperation of Economy and Technology, the Agreement between the Government of the People¡¯s Republic of China and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on Cooperation of Animal Health and Quarantine, and exchanged letters of establishing a full-time Chinese Language and History teaching school, funded by China in Egytp.

Visit to China by Egyptian Prime Minister

From April 17 to 22, 1997, Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal El-Ganzoury visited China. State and party leaders including Jiang Zemin and Li Ruihuan met Prime Minister El-Ganzoury. Li Peng held a talk with Prime Minister El-Ganzoury. Vice Premier Zhu Rongji and Director of the State Planning Commission Chen Jinhua met Prime Minister El-Ganzoury. The delegation stayed in Beijing and Shanghai.
