Visits to Egygt by Chinese Leaders

From December 4 to 10, 1983, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference Xiao Hu visited Egypt. Vice Chairman Xiao Hua met Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ali.

From October 6 to 10, 1986, Vice Premier Li Peng visited Egypt. Vice Premier Li Peng met President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister.

From November 16 to 23, 1988, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Liao Hansheng headed aa delegation of the NPC to Egypt. Vice Chairman Liao met President Hosni Mubarak, Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council Lutfi and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maguid. Vice Chairman Liao held a talk with Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly El-Mahgob.

On July 9, 1991, Member of the Polibureau of the CPC Li Ruihuan stayed in Egypt for transit and met General Secrectary of the Egyptian National Demacratic Party Waly.

From December 15 to 22, 1992, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress and Chairman of China-Egyptian Freindship Association S Seyfeddin visited Egypt. Vice Chairman Seyfeddin met President Mubarak and Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly Sorour.

From January 5 to 12, 1993, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference Qian Weichang visited Egypt. Vice Chairman Qian met President Hosni Mubarak, Speaker of the Egytpian People's Assembly Sorour, Prime Minister Sidki and Foreign Minister Amr Moussa. Vice Chairman Qian held a talk with Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council Mustafa Helmy.

From October 12 to 19, 1993, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference Wu Xueqian visited Egypt and took part in the second China-Arab Dialogue.Vice Chairman Wu met Speaker of the Egytpian People's Assembly Sorour, Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council Mustafa Helmy, Deputy Prime Minister Waly,Foreign Minister Amr Moussa and Secretary General of the Arab League Maguid.

From November 22 to 29, 1993, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Wang Bingqian visited Egypt. Vice Chairman Wang met President Hosni Mubarak, Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council Mustafa Helmy and Deputy Prime Minister Waly. Vice Chairman Wang held a talk with Speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly,.

From April 9 to 15, 1994, Vice Premier and his wife visited Egypt. Vice Premier Zhu held a talk with Deputy Prime Minister El-Ganzoury and met Deputy Prime Minister Waly. The delegation stayed in Cairo, Ismalia, Aswan, Luxor and Alexandria.

From May 1 to 4, 1994, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference Wang Zhaoguo stayed in Egypt for transit and met Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council Mustafa Helmy.

From January 14 to 16, 1994, State Counsellor Luo Gan stayed in Egypt for transit and met Deputy Prime Minister Waly.

From September 5 to 13, 1994, State Counsellor and Director of the State Family Planning Commission Peng Peiyun took part in the Fourth Conference on Population and Development which was held in Cairo.

From November 8 to 13, 1995, Chairman of the National People's Congress Qiao Shi and his wife visited Egypt which marked the first visit by chairman of the NPC to Egypt since establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Chairman Qiao met President Hosni Mubarak, Prime Minister Sidki and Chairman of the Egyptian Shura Council Mustafa Helmy. Chairman Qiao held a talk with Speaker of the Egytpian People's Assembly Sorour. The delegation stayed in Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Ismailia and Alexandria.

From May 21 to 26, 1999, Chairman of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference Li Ruihuan visited Egypt. Chairman Li met President Hosni Mubarak, Speaker of the Egytpian People's Assembly Sorour and Secretary General of the Arab League Maguid. Chairman Li held a talk with hairman of the Egyptian Shura Council Mustafa Helmy. The delegation stayed in Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria.

From May 22 to 30, 1999, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference Song Jian took part in annual meeting of the Council of International Action in Egypt.

From October 20 to 25, 1999, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Tian Jiyun visited Egypt. Vice Chairman Tian met Prime Minister Ebeid and held a talk with Speaker of the Egytpian People's Assembly Sorour. The delegation stayed in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Ismailia.

From November 6 to 9, 1999, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress and Director of the State Family Planning Commission Peng Peiyun visited Egypt.

From January 22 to 23, 2000, State Counsellor Wu Yi and a degelation of Chinese government stayed in Egypt for transit and met Deputy Speaker of the People's Assembly of Egypt.

From May 22 to 26, 2000, State Counsellor Wang Zhongyu as head of an auditing delegation visited Egypt and met Prime Minister Ebeid and Deputy Prime Minister Waly.

From November 16 to 21, 2000, Vice Premier Wu Bangguo visited Egypt.Vice Premier Wu met President Hosni Mubarak and Prime Minister Ebeid. Vice Premier Wu held a talk with Deputy Prime Minister Waly. The delegation stayed in Cairo and Luxor.

From September 6 to 11, 2001, Member of the Polibureau of the CPC and Director of the Secretariat Ding Guangeng visited Egypt at the invitation of the Egytpian National Democratic Party. Director Ding met Prime Minister Ebeid and Deputy Prime Minister Waly. The delegation stayed in Cairo and Luxor.

From May 10 to 16, 2002, Delegation of the Chinese National People's Congress(NPC) led by Chairman of the NPC Law Committee Wang Weicheng visited Egypt. Ahmed Sorour, speaker of the Egyptian People's Assembly, and Mustapha Helmi, speaker of Egypt's Advisory Council, met the delegation .
   

Visits to China by Egyptian Leaders

At the end of September, 1973, Egyptian Vice President Soffi visited China and met Chairman Mao. Premier Zhou Enlai held a talk with Vice President Soffi.

From February 2 to 7, 1978, Egyptian Vice President Dohamy, envoy and political advisor of President Sadat visited China. Chairman Hua Guofeng met Vice President Dohamy. Vice Premier Li Xiannian held three talks with Vice President Dohamy.

From February 27 to March 2, 1979, Egyptian Vice President Dohamy, envoy and political advisor of President Sadat visited China. Vice Premier hosted a welcome banquet for Vice President Dohamy. Premier Hua Guofeng met Vice President Dohamy. Foreign Minister Huang Hua held a talk with Vice President Tuhami.

From June 9 to 12, 1981, Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister Maguid headed an economic and trade delegation to China.

From October 10 to 13, 1983, Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Abughazala, visited China. State and party leaders including Li Xiannian, Peng Zheng, Zhao Ziyang met Vice Prime Minister Abughazala. Defense Minister Zhang Ai'ping held a talk with Deputy Prime Minister Abughazala.

From July 6 to 13, 1985, Speaker of the People's Assembly of Egypt visited China. State and Party leaders including Li Xiannian, Peng Zheng, Zhao Ziyang met Speaker Mahajibu.Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Wang Renzhong held a talk with Speaker Mahajibu.

From August 12 to 17, 1986, Chairman of the Shura Council of Egypt Sedan visited China. Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Ye Fei met Chairman Sedan.

From April 27 to 30, 1991, Speaker of the People's Assembly of Egypt Ahmed Sorour visited China. Premier Li Peng met Speaker Sorour and Chairman of the National People's Congress Wan Li held a welcome banquet for Speaker Sorour.

From August 18 to 20, 1991, Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Immigration Ghali visited China. Premier Li Peng met Deputy Prime Minister Ghali. State Councselor and Foreign Minister Qian Qichen held a talk with Deputy Prime Minister Ghali.

From Feburary 19 to 26, 1992, Chairman of the Shura Council of Egypt Mustafa Helmy visited China. President Yang Shangkun and Premier Li Peng met Chairman Mustafa Helmy respectively. Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Wang Renzhong held a talk with Chairman Mustafa Helmy. The delegation stayed in Beijing and Shanghai.

From October 18 to 25, 1994, Vice Chairman of the Shura Council of Egypt Abudullah Ali Galhi visited China. Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference Li Ruihua met Vice Chairman Galhi.

From October 23 to 25, 1994, Speaker of the People's Assembly of Egypt Ahmed Sorour visited China. President Jiang Zemin, Chairman of the National People's Congress Qiao Shi and Vice Premier Qian Qichen met Speaker Sorour respectively. Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Tian Jiyun held a talk with Speaker Sorour.

On September 6, 1995, Speaker of the People's Assembly of Egypt Ahmed Sorour took part in and delivered a speech for the Day of Members of Parliament during the Fourth World Women's Conference in China. Chairman a of the National People's Congress Qiao Shi met Speaker Sorour.
