CAIRO, Dec 26, 2002 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian and visiting Chinese experts exchanged views on a seminar on human rights here on Thursday. During the one-day event, the two sides touched upon the issues of oriental culture, legal protection of human rights and Islamic view of human rights.
Jin Jian, vice president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, called in an address to the meeting for an increased understanding between the two countries in the area of human rights. "China and Egypt have had fruitful cooperation in politics, economy and culture in the past," Jin said, "Holding such a dialogue between us has opened a new field of bilateral cooperation."
The event was co-organized by the Center for Asian Studies of Cairo University and the China Society for Human Rights Studies.
The Chinese delegation headed by Jin arrived here Tuesday on a four-day visit to Egypt. |
