Founded in 1950, under the personal instruction of Premier Zhou Enlai, the China Acrobatics Troupe is the first troupe of this kind after the foundation of P.R. China. In the past 50 years, it has visited over 50 countries and regions and made great contribution to promoting the acrobatics industry and enhancing friendship among peoples. With a large repertoire of acrobatics, magic, and animal taming, the Troupe is among the groups boasting of large scale and most comprehensive programs. In recent 10 years, the Troupe has achieved great progress in artistic creations. 24 programs successively won 35 golden prizes at acrobatic contests held at home and abroad, which wins high reputation for the Troupe. Since 90s, the Troupe has created 8 acrobatic evening gala performances of various styles. The Chinese Soul, in particular, was staged successfully year after year at the Poly Theatre and became gradually a famous brand. In 2001, this show won 6 awards, such as the golden Chrysanthemum and Best Director on the First China Acrobatics Festival. In addition, the Beijing Acrobatic School was set up by the Troupe in order to cultivate professional acrobats. The school later became an international Arts School providing courses of acrobatics, dance, fine arts, martial arts and films & TV performance. It has conducted extensive exchange and cooperation with foreign counterparts, and helped to train acrobats and artists for Russia, Viet Nam, U.S. and South Korea. Li Ning, a young magician, has been engaged in magic for over 10 years. Due to his solid mastery of basic skills and unique performing style, his programs are well received by the audience. Among them, the most popular one is Magic Movements-Costume, Masks and Umbrellas tricks, which won him Golden Magic Stick at the 16th International Star Magicians Competition in Monaco in 2001 and opened a new page for Chinese magic in the world stage.
Guo Bin, young actor, boasting of Hand Feats. His relaxed and pleasant performance won the golden medal at the 搒pring in April?Friendship Arts Fetival in DPRK in 2001. The Balancing Feats is another well-received program.
Wang Yang, actor of grade 95, golden prizewinner. His programs include Balancing Feats, Flying Spear, Pagoda of Bowls and etc. He takes the leading role in Balancing Feats, in which he jumps on steps while shouldering two actors. This shows his superb skill of balance.
Chen Cen, actress of grade 95. Her program Diabolo Play is one of the best ones of the Troupe and a gold medals winner at domestic and international competitions. Another program Kicking Bowls on the High Unicycle tours many countries and is popular among audiences.
Zhang Yu, actress of grade 95. With consummate skills and beautiful appearance on stage, she is well accepted by the audience. Her major programs include Jumping and Balancing Feats, Diabolo Play and Cycling Feats. The Jumping and Balancing Feats won the gold medal at the 2001 April Spring Arts Festival in DPRK, in which Zhang takes the vital role.
Di Hui, actress of grade 95. Major programs include Rolling Cups, Diabolo Play. She visited and performed in many cultural events on behalf of the Troupe.

Jumping and Balancing Feats Performed by Wang Yang and others
The acrobats jump up step by step on a swaying ladder with the top actress controlling a pile of cup by her mouth, which displays their superb balancing skill and tacit unison. The program won gold medal at the 2001April Spring Arts Festival in DPRK.
Diabolo Play Performed by Di Hui and others
Diabolo is originally a toy for children. With accumulated experience, generations of acrobats add more tossing and somersault in the program, thus making it more skillful and attractive. It won the Gold K Award at the Premiers International Circus Festival in Monaco in 1998.
Rolling Cups Performed by Di Hui
It's a traditional program of contortionist act, which highly demands strength and skills. The actress lies down on a round table, holding piles of cups in her hands and on feet land mouth, and rolls over to make different postures.
Pagoda of bowls Performed by Liang Feng and others
A traditional program, with household bowls at the prop. The performers put over ten bowls on the top of their heads and act with unique skills tossing and catching the bowls. The number of performers may be one, two, or four, but this time the troupe makes it seven. The program becomes more difficult and breathtaking. It won the gold medal at the 1998 International Circus Festival in Budapest, Hungary and Golden Lion Award at the 5th National Acrobatics Competition.
Kicking Bowls on the High Unicycle Performed by Chen Cen
The actress rides on a high unicycle, and kicks up a pile of bowls, cups or spoons with one foot and lets them fall exactly on the top of her head.
One-hand Handstand Performed by Chen Rui
Supporting his body by a single hand, the young actor poses on a high stand dramatically and artistically. The program won the first prize at the International Talent Junior Arts Contest in 1999.
Balancing on Swaying Boards Performed by Gong Yunpeng and Li Xiaoqiang
It's thrilling and amusing, the two young actors try to balance themselves on a swaying board, standing upside down, spinning on turning somersaults. The program won gold medal at the International Youth Circus Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1998.
Jar Tricks This traditional program shows the superb balancing skill of the actor. With the edge of a big jar as his bearing point, he holds it over his head and spins.
Jumping through Hoops on the Ground Performed by Guo Bin and others
All actors turn dazzling somersaults in the air and jump through hoops back and forth. It was a gold medal winner at the Warsaw International Festival in Poland in 1998.
Twin Foot Dexterity Performed by Qu Xiaobin and An Yingyin
In this traditional program, the two young acrobats lie on a platform and juggle with vats or red tables, producing excellent visual effects.
Flying Spear Performed by Wang Yang
The actor twirls a spear or a stick full of vigor, imitating Monkey King, a figure in the Chinese classic Pilgrim to the West.
Hand Feats Performed by Guo Bin
The actor plays with up to 7 badminton rackets in a skilled and relaxed manner. The program won gold medal at the 2001April Spring Arts Festival in DPRK.
Fishing Trick Performed by Niu Yuming
The performer plays tricks with a single fishing rod to catch live fishes out of nothing.
