China's northwestern Gansu province and Egypt's Giza governorate signed on Wednesday an agreement to establish friendly ties. Under the agreement, the two sides are expected to engage in cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, culture and personnel exchanges. Gansu Governor Lu Hao said at the signing ceremony that trade volume between Gansu and Egypt exceeded 3 million US dollars in the first five months of this year, and the signing of such an agreement will help promote economic and trade exchanges between the two provinces. Charge'd affairs a. i. of Chinese Embassy to Egypt Luo Xiaoguang attended this occasion. Lu and his delegation arrived here on July 17 for a five-day visit to Egypt.
