CAIRO, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Obeid on Monday said his country eyes on environmental cooperation with China.
Obeid made the remark in a meeting with a Chinese delegation led by Zhu Guangyao, vice minister of the Chinese State Environmental Protection Administration.
Obeid said Sino-Egyptian relations have maintained good momentum in recent years, adding that the two countries have had fruitful cooperation in various fields.
Egypt and China, both developing countries, are facing the same tasks of advancing their respective economies and protecting the environment, he said.
He said Egypt is willing to learn from China in terms of dealing with solid garbage, straw stalk, water and air pollution.
Following the meeting, Zhu and Egyptian Minister of State for Environmental Affairs Nadia Riyad signed a memo of understanding on environmental protection.
Zhu and his delegation arrived here on Sunday for a five-day visit to Egypt. Enditem
