Sino-Egyptian Marine Biology Workshop held on May 24-25th, 2004 in Suez Canal University located in the city of Ismailia, which is jointly organized by China Shandong Ocean Engineering Institute and Suez Canal University. Prof. Xiang Jianhai from CAS and other 7 Chinese Scientists made presentations on topics such as Progress and Prospects of Marine Biotechnology in China, Shrimp Aquaculture. More than 10 Egyptian professors reported their research results on the topics like Red Sea Coral Transplantation as a tool of bio-diversity conservation, Prospects and Limitation of Marine Culture in Egypt. The workshop deepened the mutual understanding and friendship between the scientists of the two countries and would further promote the Sino-Egyptian cooperation in the field of marine science and technology.
