CAIRO, Jul 13, 2003 (Xinhua) -- Egypt抯 Cotton and Textile Industry Holding Company Limited and China抯 Huitong Polyester Technique Corporation Limited signed on Sunday a contract worth more than 14 million US dollars.

Under the deal, the Chinese company will provide advanced textile equipment, technology and training for its Egyptian counterpart, which is specialized in producing textile material.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Egyptian Minister of State for Public Business Sector Mokhtar Khatab said the signing of the contract was a step forward toward expanding cooperation between enterprises in the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liu Xiaoming said at the occasion that China can not only sell textile products to other countries, but also provide textile equipment and technology to the rest of the world.
