As of June 16, 2022, Chinese Embassy in Egypt will adjust the requirements for visa application for resumption of work and production , employment, and family visit or reunion purposes as follows:
Applicants for commercial and technology activities,or exchanges in China can apply for M or F visa by submitting Valid Invitation Letter(PU) issued by the central and state organs, central enterprises, authorized foreign affairs and commercial departments of local governments. Applicants for employment can apply for Z visa by submitting Valid Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit, or the Foreigner’s Work Permit, while Valid Invitation Letter(PU) issued by relevant local authorities is no longer required.
2. Family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, parents-in-law, adult children and their spouses who can provide sufficient proof of immediate visit) of above-mentioned applicants or foreign nationals already in China, resuming work and production, can apply for S1or S2 visa for reunion or family visit with routine documents required before the pandemic such as the certification showing the relationship of familiy members, while Valid Invitation Letter(PU) issued by relevant local authorities is no longer required.
3.Family members (including spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children and their spouses, siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren) of Chinese citizens or foreign nationals with Chinese permanent residence permit can apply for Q1 or Q2 visa for reunion or family visit with routine documents required before the pandemic such as the certification showing the relationship of family members.
The applicants should provide full-process vaccination certificates of the vaccine licensed or approved for emergency use by China or the World Health Organization. Please submit the application through Chinese Visa Application and Service Center in Cairo.

Apart from the above-mentioned visas, C and R visa applications can also be submitted, however L visa application can not be accepted currently. If qualified after Chinese Embassy’s verification, applicants can obtain the visas one week after the submission of the application in Chinese Visa Application and Service Center in Cairo. Applicants for diplomatic or service visas shall make an appointment with the consular section of Chinese Embassy in Egypt directly.
