Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia

In the morning of September 10, 2014, Premier Li Keqiang met in Tianjin with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia, who was in China for the annual meeting of the Summer Davos Forum 2014.

Li Keqiang said that Serbia was the first country in Central and Eastern Europe that established strategic partnership with China, and the two countries have always respected each other and treated each other equally. China is willing to consolidate political mutual trust, and enhance practical cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges with Serbia to elevate the level of China-Serbia relations and cooperation.

Li Keqiang pointed out that last year, China, Serbia and Hungary jointly announced to cooperate on building the rail between Belgrade and Budapest, the first cross-border connectivity infrastructure project in the Central and Eastern European region, which contributes to the promotion of regional economic revitalization and the overall development in Europe. China is willing to join efforts with Serbia to build it into a model project in the cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC).

Li Keqiang stressed that deepening China-CEEC cooperation not only is in line with the common interests of both sides but also conduces to promoting for comprehensive and balanced development of China-Europe relations. China stands ready to join efforts with Serbia well organizing this year's China-CEEC Summit, so as to promote mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation and benefit the two peoples.

Aleksandar Vucic expressed that Serbia is China's sincere friend and is willing to firmly support each other with China in all fields. Serbia will work with China to jointly push forward large-scale cooperation projects such as the Hungary-Serbia Railway, well organize this year's CEEC-China Summit and promote Serbia-China relations and CEEC-China cooperation for more results.
