Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania

In the morning of September 10, 2014, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Edi Rama of Albania in Tianjin, who came to China to attend the annual meeting of the Summer Davos Forum 2014.

Li Keqiang expressed that China cherishes the traditional friendship with Albania and stands ready to work with the Albanian side and take the 65th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relationship as an opportunity to strengthen high-level exchanges and solidly push forward practical cooperation in various fields, so as to promote bilateral relations and cooperation for more results.

Li Keqiang stressed that China and Albania are highly complementary in economy and enjoy broad prospects of expanding cooperation in multiple areas such as energy, mining, agriculture and infrastructure construction. The Chinese side is willing to import more high-quality and characteristic agricultural products and mineral products from Albania and supports competent Chinese enterprises with the willingness to participate in Albania's infrastructure construction, especially in promoting the construction of the highway connecting Albania and Macedonia, hence to achieve a breakthrough in the major project cooperation between the two countries.

Rama expressed that bilateral relations enjoy a sound development and relevant cooperation projects are steadily promoted. The Albanian side stands ready to deepen traditional friendship and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with the Chinese side. The Albanian side welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest in Albania and will provide more convenience in this regard. The cooperation between the Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) and China has achieved positive results and the two sides should further strengthen cooperation, which is conducive to the promotion of peace and development in Central and Eastern Europe.
