On 3 October local time, President Xi Jinping, who is paying a state visit to Indonesia, and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia attended the Indonesia-China Business Luncheon in Jakarta. Xi Jinping pointed out in the address that China-Indonesia economic and trade cooperation enjoys favorable conditions with broad prospects for development. Hope the entrepreneurs of the two countries will seize the opportunities, join hands moving ahead and push for the development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation at higher levels and in wider areas.

Xi Jinping expressed that China and Indonesia are both developing countries with large population and vast territory. They both shoulder the same task of developing economy and improving people's livelihood. The two economies are highly complementary to each other with huge potentials for cooperation. With the unceasing development of China-Indonesia relations, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has entered the best period in history. China-Indonesia relationship has been upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Both sides have formulated the Five-Year Development Program for Trade and Economic Cooperation and set major fields for future cooperation. We should unceasingly enrich the contents of cooperation and innovate the mode of cooperation to push for the development of cooperation at higher levels and in wider areas.

First, to strengthen communication and coordination on global and regional hotspot issues such as energy security, food security and regional economic integration, and to uplift the level of China-ASEAN FTA.

Second, to push for balanced and rapid development of bilateral trade, to expand investment cooperation, to establish Indonesia-China Integrated Industrial Parks as early as possible, to encourage Chinese businesses to join in the construction of six economic corridors in Indonesia, to expand investment in infrastructure construction and other fields in Indonesia, and to strengthen cooperation on agriculture, energy and tourism.

Third, to promote financial cooperation, to enhance multi-level regional financial safety net, to encourage use of local currency settlement in bilateral trade and investment, and to provide more facilitation for businesses of the two countries to invest in each other's markets.

Xi Jinping stressed that China-Indonesia bilateral economic and trade relations enjoy favorable conditions. Hope the entrepreneurs of the two countries will seize the opportunities, join hands moving ahead and work together to create a better future for bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the speech expressed that the two nations are both emerging market countries committed to realizing their respective development goals. Both sides are important development opportunities and cooperative partners for each other. Hope both sides will tap potentials to the full, strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy and infrastructure construction to achieve win-win outcomes. Indonesia welcomes investment from China and encourages the entrepreneurs of the two countries to boost cooperation so as to push for the unceasing development of Indonesia-China comprehensive strategic partnership.

The two heads of state also witnessed the signing of a number of business cooperation agreements between the two countries.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others were present.
