President Xi Jinping Meets with Vice President Boediono of Indonesia

On 3 October local time, President Xi Jinping met in Jakarta with Indonesian Vice President Boediono.

Xi Jinping expressed that China-Indonesia relations have enjoyed a sound growth momentum in recent years. The two countries are highly complementary in cooperation. President Susilo and I share a deep understanding of and a high degree of consensus on the respective status of China and Indonesia as well as the strategic significance of bilateral cooperation. We have agreed to upgrade the bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, which will open up new broader prospects for bilateral cooperation. Both sides should also exchange views on global and Asia-Pacific economic situations on a regular basis and join hands pushing forward China-ASEAN cooperation. It is believed that bilateral cooperation will surely yield more remarkable outcomes in the near future.

Boediono expressed that Indonesia is satisfied with the sound development of bilateral relations. Indonesia hopes to unceasingly strengthen relations with China and believes that President Xi Jinping's current visit will undoubtedly push forward bilateral cooperation in all fields to better promote the development of the two countries.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others were present at the meeting.
