On 3 October local time, President Xi Jinping met in Jakarta with Chairman Sidarto Danusubroto of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia.

Xi Jinping expressed that China and Indonesia enjoy profound traditional friendship. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the friendly exchanges between the older generations of the leaders of the two countries have laid a solid foundation for today's sound development of bilateral relations. China-Indonesia relations are now at a new stage of development. The two countries are both big developing countries and share similar development goals, extensive common interests as well as much common language. Both sides should work together to push for long-term stable development of China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership. It will not only benefit both peoples, but is also conducive to regional and global peace and development. Hope the NPC and the CPPCC of China will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia to enhance mutual understanding so as to play a greater role in pushing for the development of relations between the two countries.

Sidarto Danusubroto expressed that President Susilo and President Xi Jinping have decided to upgrade the relations between the two countries to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Bilateral relations have been pushed forward to a new high. I just listened to President Xi Jinping's speech at the Indonesian House of Representatives. I fully agreed with President Xi Jinping on the proposals to strengthen bilateral friendly cooperation. The Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly is ready to strengthen exchanges with the NPC and the CPPCC of China to contribute to enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as non-governmental friendship between the two countries.
