1987-1989   Third Secretary, at the Chinese Embassy in Egypt.

1989-1991   Third Secretary, Second Secretary, at the Chinese Embassy in Tunisia.

1991-1996   Second Secretary, Deputy Division Director, Division Director at the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

1996-1998   Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Syria.

1998-2001   Deputy Director-General at the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
