Chinese Ambassador Liu Xiaoming: Visit to Beijing by President Mubarak Significant for Deepening Strategic Cooperative Relations between China and Egypt

At the New Year Press Reception hosted by the Chinese embassy, Chinese Ambassador Liu Xiaoming noted that 2001 marked the 45 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt and China and Egypt have strengthened consulation, coordination and cooperation. In the last year, the Presidents of the two countries have held a conversation over phone during which they have exchanged views on various issues including terrorism and reached a broad consensus.

Ambassador Liu also said that the recent visit to Egypt by Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan has yielded positive results and pushed forward the bilateral cooperations. Trade volume between the two countries in the first ten months has also witnessed an increase over the same period of the year before last.
